Welcome to my world...

If you know me well, no, if you know me at all you should know that I'm frugal or financially conservative. Actually, I'm cheap.  I use coupons, coupons doubled and layered with store sales and bonus gas points.  I buy generic brands and I live for free samples.  I insult street vendors with my ridiculously low price "suggestions." I instinctively run to the back of a clothing store, even an outlet store, to find the clearance racks.  I get 20 emails a day from online retailers with coupon codes and clearance deal announcements.  I could spend hours in thrift stores sifting through junk in search of one or two deals.  Black Friday is my FAVORITE non-Christian holiday (by far!)

But even though I'm cheap, I love style. I love accessorizing and wearing a new dress at every event. I love following the latest trends. I love a full pantry with enough cake mix for 24 dozen cupcakes and enough pop-tarts to get us through 3 blizzards.  Hoarder?  No, I've watched the show- I'm not certifiable.

If my personal description seems familiar to you and it makes you feel warm and fuzzy, follow my posts and see a sampling of my favorite "deals."  If my description makes you think I'm a little crazy and that I waste a lot of time, follow along anyway just long enough to see a deal or two.  Maybe I can make you a believer.

By the way, the title of the Blog, Vente, means "sale" in French.  All the "Cheap Chicks, Frugal Finds and Thrifty Mama" site titles and their derivatives were taken.

Quick Outlet stop

After work Friday I ran over to The Outlet Shoppes at Gettysburg - http://www.horizongroup.com/our-centers/gettysburg/ .  Quick trip to find my niece a birthday present.  To those who are familiar with the Gettysburg Outlets you know it isn't the largest outlet mall around but over time their store selection has improved.  And considering the fact that they are the only outlet mall less than an hour drive from home, I tend to stop in at least once a season.  Here are my latest finds- I took along my $10 saving certificate for Bass/Izod/or Van Heusen (its incredibly easy to earn these, I never spend very much in the stores and I still get a couple of these a year.) These leather loafers (available in olive green and black as well) were originally $100.  They were on the clearance table marked with a yellow dot (85% off!!!)  So, with my savings certificate these were $5!!!! A little bling...

I tend to forget that the popular teenage boutique, Forever 21, is a great place for moms, and dare I say middle aged gals, to shop.  I usually remember what a great place it is when I'm in a really fancy mall and stumble across one of their GORGEOUS, shiny, marble laden exquisite stores. Aside from the sheer beauty of the upscale versions of the shop, the selling point for me are the extreme deals.  Look at these beauties I recently picked up: Love this Bee pendant. And for $3.80 who wouldn't love it?  No sale, no clearance, this is regular price!!  And this beauty... $8.80!!! Forever 21 is full of great, affordable accessories including scarves, tights, etc.  On a completely different note, but still blingy, look at this beautiful blouse from J. Crew... Love that gem encrusted collar!! Ok, you see that it's on sale but, if you know me, you know that's not nearly good enough.  Here's what I found at Kohls last night... Amazing, I know.  But look at this... Not $79.

Burlington!!! Not just coats!!!

Are you as blown away as I was?!?! These are Vince Camuto sandals, regularly priced at $60, value priced at Burlington Coat Factory at $29.99, on clearance for $3.98!!!!! Get there now!  A new Burlington opened last week here in Hanover, Pennsylvania and today was my inaugural visit!! Im familiar with the chain and have visited several in Maryland and Pennsylvania but I was blown away by the number of designer goods this particular Burlington carries. Lots of Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, etc.  and great prices! They have a super jewelry selection and awesome kids clothes.
