Formal wear

I love to get "dressed up."  Kate Spade said, "playing dress-up begins at age 5 and never truly ends."  I agree.  I love an excuse to buy a pretty new dress, and shoes, earrings etc.  And frankly, I don't get enough of those opportunities but when they arise, I'm ready. Here are 3 of my latest "fancy dress" finds.
This lovely number is one of my all time favorites.  It's a Coldwater Creek dress (who knew they had pretty party dresses?) It has a champagne colored satin layer with a black lace overlay.  Here's the scoop- I found it at the local Community Aid store with the original store tags still on it (so those of you who find wearing pre-owned clothing creepy, take note that there are new clothes available in thrift stores.)  The price you ask?  Original price - $189.  My price? $15!!! It was marked $29.99 but I bought it on half-price Wednesday!
This iridescent blue dress was on the clearance rack at Ross www.rossstores.com.  I love shopping at Ross for dresses,suits and shoes.  Their regular prices are great but clearance prices are AMAZING!  For example, this dress was $5.99. AMAZING!  But I can top that-

This cute black dress is also from the clearance rack at Ross.  What did I pay?  $2.99!!!!!!  It always pays to check the clearance racks first.

Quick Outlet stop

After work Friday I ran over to The Outlet Shoppes at Gettysburg - http://www.horizongroup.com/our-centers/gettysburg/ .  Quick trip to find my niece a birthday present.  To those who are familiar with the Gettysburg Outlets you know it isn't the largest outlet mall around but over time their store selection has improved.  And considering the fact that they are the only outlet mall less than an hour drive from home, I tend to stop in at least once a season.  Here are my latest finds- I took along my $10 saving certificate for Bass/Izod/or Van Heusen (its incredibly easy to earn these, I never spend very much in the stores and I still get a couple of these a year.) These leather loafers (available in olive green and black as well) were originally $100.  They were on the clearance table marked with a yellow dot (85% off!!!)  So, with my savings certificate these were $5!!!! Moving on to the Gap- crazy sales in there this weekend!!!  Tons of these 70% off signs on new spring merc

Burlington!!! Not just coats!!!

Are you as blown away as I was?!?! These are Vince Camuto sandals, regularly priced at $60, value priced at Burlington Coat Factory at $29.99, on clearance for $3.98!!!!! Get there now!  A new Burlington opened last week here in Hanover, Pennsylvania and today was my inaugural visit!! Im familiar with the chain and have visited several in Maryland and Pennsylvania but I was blown away by the number of designer goods this particular Burlington carries. Lots of Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, etc.  and great prices! They have a super jewelry selection and awesome kids clothes.

Anatomy of a cheap outfit

I'll start with a caveat- by no means do I consider myself a "style expert" or someone on the cutting edge of fashion.  I know what I like and I wear it.  I have "classics" in my closet that are older than my dog.
